DisConnect brings in a lot of new updates to make your selling experience better this April 2021. Here’s a list of all the new features we bring to you.
- 1. Onboarding made easy
DisConnect has evolved over time and now brings a lot of advanced features that might overwhelm new users who are looking to sync between Discogs & another channel. To address that, we’ve completely optimized our onboarding to make it possible with the least possible steps for our new users.
Onboarding can also be skipped if a user wants to set up disconnect using all the advanced features. If you’re new to DisConnect, feel free to check out more on DisConnect here.
- 2. Quickly find your synced products
Getting your products synced from Discogs to another channel or vice versa was made easy with DisConnect. Finding them on the target channel however was tough without direct links for users to quickly navigate from DisConnect and view their synced products.
DisConnect has now added links to synced products in the Product Details section. Simply click the name of the channel, you will be redirected to the synced product on the selected channel.
- 3. Squareup Point of Sale Integration
Adding new channels to expand our reach by making lives easier for various music enthusiasts has always been our priority. This time, we’ve integrated with the Squareup POS.
With DisConnect’s Square POS, sellers now have the option to completely automate the sync of their Discogs Listings to Square POS or the other way around. To learn more, check out our SquareUp guides here. To learn more, check out our SquareUp guides here.
- 4. Shipment Integrations – Shipping Easy
In addition to Royal Mail & ShipStation, we now also support Integration with ShippingEasy. This means you can now sync your orders from Discogs directly to your Shipment Platform with all the relevant information directly. We also send a fulfillment message back to your customers with information like the tracking number & the tracking URL.
- 5. WooCommerce – Weight Mapping & Metadata Mapping
In our WooCommerce Integration, we’ve now added a couple of more features to make your selling experience better.
With our weight mapping found in the channel settings page, sellers can now enter custom weights for specific formats instead of picking them up from Discogs. This is due to the fact that certain sellers find weights on Discogs inaccurate & prefer to use their own custom defined weights.
The next feature I would like to bring to your attention is Metadata mapping. WooCommerce supports various 3rd party plugins which users can link to their website. While 3rd party plugins have various uses, there are plugins that are used to create “custom fields” in their WooCommerce.
When a music seller creates a product on Discogs, there are several fields that hold data relevant to the record/collection. On Discogs, besides the publicly visible fields there are fields like Private Comments (External ID) & Item Location are fields that are visible only to the sellers & not the customers. Metadata mapping enables you to sync these fields or any other shortcode to your custom fields created with your 3rd party plugins.
- 6. WooCommerce – Product Status
DisConnect now gives you the feasibility to mark your products as Draft (So that customers don’t see it when it goes out of stock) or leave it as Out of Stock on your website, so customers can see it & request you for a re-stock so they can order the product.
This feature was previously there only for Shopify channel in DisConnect but we have now added it to WooCommerce as well.
- 7. Shopify – Cost per item
Certain Sellers on Discogs have their wholesale price or any other reference prices in their Discogs private fields like comments or item location. Pricing relevant (Numerical) data can now be synced over to the Cost Per Item field in Shopify using the respective shortcodes.
- 8. Export Frequency Control
Discogs export frequency is a feature that DisConnect uses in the past to ensure specific product details are updated completely. As it was too frequent, we now allow users to select a time to export their data. By default we will leave at 6 hours once but you’re free to change it your liking. Should DisConnect feel it’s mandatory to run it, we will trigger an automated export from our end to keep your data in perfect sync.
Also, in the future, we are working a method to completely do it without creating any notifications.
