List items for sale or draft on Discogs via Disconnect
With Disconnect’s new features, you can list items on Discogs instantly. Listing products directly through Disconnect makes the process of product syncing with connected e-commerce or POS platforms much faster and easier.
In this blog, we will walk you through how Disconnect helps you to list the products on Discogs & some other recent developments. Please carefully review it :
Step1: Login Disconnect, click on the list item on Discogs
Step2: Find what you want to sell To list an item for sale, use the search bar that’s at the top of the page to look for the item you’d like to sell. You can search the item by searching a release or search by a specific Parameter.
Step3: After searching the release click on the List item on Discogs
Step4: Fill up all the necessary details: Media and sleeve conditions, status, price, quantity, weight, etc. and list it for sale.
The products will get listed on Discogs & Disconnect directly within a seconds as soon as it is listed for sale.
(a) Media and sleeve conditions: Describe the condition of your item, select the condition of the media and the sleeve from the dropdown menu.
(b) Comments and private comments: Comments (item condition) are optional, but they will help your buyer better understand the exact condition of the item. If you’re a larger seller, you may find it useful to add private comments, such as the physical location or reminders about that particular item.
(c) Item location: You can add the location of the listed item as per convenience, for example – upper stake, row 5, etc. (it is optional and private)
(d) Status: You can choose the status of the item from the drop down menu and list the item either “for sale or with a draft” directly on Discogs via Disconnect.
(e) Set the item price in USD: You can set a price you think is fair as per the item’s condition.
(f) Quantity: You can mention the no. of copies you want to sell in “quantity” field.
(Note: If you are using the FETCH INVENTORY QUANTITY features from Discogs currently, then now you can use that field for some other purpose as well. Now using the Quantity field in Disconnect can list your products on Discogs with multiple quantities and relist the items once it get sold on Discogs.)
(g) Weight: “Item weight” will not be automatically filled in Disconnect, you can add the item weight here as you want.
Step5: Once you click on – list item for sale, you will get a pop-up as “your item has been listed in Discogs successfully”.
You can check the listing in your Discogs account the moment you get this success pop-up, as it is listed within a few seconds.
(2) Shopify Metafields
Step1: Login to your Shopify account, go to settings, and click on meta fields. Choose the part of the store you want to add a new field to.
Step2: For example – Click on products and start adding new fields to your products
Step3: Add any name in the name field, add some description that you would like to mention, and give read access to your app.
Step4: Select a content type as “single line text” and click on one value. Once all these are done, please click on the save button.
(Note: Namespace and key given in the above screenshot will be automatically generated in your Shopify and we will need this to complete the settings in Disconnect.)
(A) Using Shopify meta fields – For Shopify to Discogs sync
You can map Discogs sleeve condition, media condition, Release Id, Notes, etc. with Shopify meta fields. The value entered in the field will be mapped for your Shopify products, If the meta field is found the item will go to the respective Discogs condition.
Step1: Go to the Shopify channel setting in Disconnect, and enable the switch “use Shopify meta fields instead”
Step2: Enter Shopify MetaField Namespace and Key for Release Id, Media Condition, Sleeve Condition, and Notes and save it once done.
There are the namespaces generated in Shopify that need to be copied and entered in the above screenshot.
(B) Using Shopify meta fields – For Discogs to Shopify sync
Go to Shopify mapping in Disconnect and add meta fields mappings, please have a look at the screenshot attached below for your reference:
You can map meta fields with various available Discogs shortcodes that you want to sync to the respective Meta fields that you have created on Shopify. You have to add any Discogs shortcodes in the “Meta Fields value” field and add Shopify MetaField Namespace in “Meta field id”
Once all these are done, please click on the save button.
There are the namespaces generated in Shopify that need to be copied and entered in the above screenshot in “ Meta field Id”.
(3) Disconnect product page – Filter update.
We have updated the default status from “All” to “For sale” on the product page of Disconnect. If you open the product page and search for it, it will not show up.
Please select “all status” from the dropdown menu then click on the filter and search the product on the search bar. Please have a look at the screenshot attached below for your reference:
